Dukan Diet Explained

The Dukan diet is a simple and effective way to quickly lose weight. Dieters frequently describe losing 10 pounds a week without having to take any pills, supplements or doing anything dangerous. The nicer thing is that you can continue to lose two to four pounds every week until you reach your weight loss target.

Pierre Dukan first detailed the Dukan diet in 2000 after plenty of research into what helps lose weight fast. A qualified nutritionist, Pierre wrote a book describing his findings and recommending an approach to rapid fat loss. The book became a runaway bestseller, and for years it was the most popular dieting book in France, selling over 8 million copies.

Dukan's research proved that those who followed his diet plan did not regain the lost weight as soon as the diet was complete. He recommended a 4-phase approach to initially lose and then sustain the new found low weight level. In the Dukan diet, you are permitted to eat as much as you like as long as you select an item from a list of around 100 allowed foods.
